Bessarabian Databases. Updates in December of 2020:

Our Bessarabia group is preparing a load of records to JewishGen. It will include following:


• Vital Records. Bendery and 21 shteitle in uezd - 3012 birth records for some years from 1874 to 1899; Soroki uezd for 11 shteitle - 395 birth records for 1909 and 1910; Beltsy and 12 shteitle in uezd - 770 records for 1911 and 1913. See the list of towns, shteitle


• Jews in Public Life in Bessarabia. New addition is for 1916 and it includes 74 records for town of Kishinev.


• Business Directory, 1897. Includes 1423 records from all Bessarabia.


• All Kishinev, Business, 1916. Includes 608 records of business, small and large for Kishinev.
  


• Revision Lists. There are already 10306 records completed. See progress...
  

Bessarabian Databases. Updates:

• Revision Lists, plan to upload to JewishGen in December of 2020. A number of Revision List sets are going to be completed for towns of Kishinev, Khotin, Bendery, Beltsy, etc, see the progress.

Jewish Cemeteries. Updates:

• Completed photographing and indexing of Sector 1 of Kishinev Jewish Cemetery and sent to JOWBR 3,266 burial records with 2,910 images. See information at the Kishinev Jewish Cemetery Report at Bessarabia SIG website at Kishinev Jewish Cemetery Report. We have now total of 8,851 burial records with 7,889 images for Kishinev Jewish Cemetery, and more will come.

Bessarabian Databases. Updates:

• Revision Lists, plan to upload to JewishGen in December of 2020. A number of Revision List sets are going to be completed for towns of Kishinev, Khotin, Bendery, Beltsy, etc, see the progress.

• 40th IAJGS International Conference on Jewish Genealogy, Virtual, 10-13 August, 2020.

  One session was Bessarabia group meeting, talking about what we did this year, since summer of 2019 and our plans for next years.
  
  In the Second session we explore Jewish Kishinev... As always you could ask questions, posting for everybody at our JewishGen Discussion group with hashtag #bessarabia or you can also email Yefim Kogan or Inna Vayner.
  

Bessarabian Databases. Updates:

• Revision Lists, sent to JewishGen in July of 2020. 7,525 records from 3,630 families were transcribed and translated from following towns: Akkerman, Beltsy, Bendery, Khotin, Kishinev, Leovo, others. See the list of all added records.
  All records are going to uploaded to the database in several weeks. The total records we completed as of July 2020 is more than 222,000! Many thanks to our members who translated and transcribed these records: Alan Levine, Alex Matlin, Evgeniy Veretennikov, Claire Stuart, Yuriy Daylis, Vladimir Bokser, Semen Sukholutskiy, Inna Vayner and Yefim Kogan.


• Find a new column in the tables above for completed Revision Lists: 'More about records: title page, ending pages, signatures, etc.' Every set of records for a town/year will have that additional article about this particular set.

Jewish Cemeteries. Updates:

• Completed photographing and indexing of Phase 7 of Beltsy Jewish Cemetery and sent to JOWBR 568 burial records with 547 images. See information at the Beltsy Jewish Cemetery Report at Bessarabia SIG website at Beltsy Jewish Cemetery Report. We have now 5,525 burial records for Beltsy Jewish Cemetery, and more will come.

Bessarabia Vital Records. New Acquisition:

• We started to receive Bessarabia Vital records from several towns in Bessarabia, which we do not have yet. To get all these records into JewishGen database we need a team of dedicated members who can translate from Russian and Yiddish (Hebrew), manage such projects. Details will follow. If interested to work, please email Inna Vayner who started this project or Yefim Kogan.

Bessarabian Databases. Updates:

• Revision Lists, plan to upload to JewishGen in June/July of 2020. A number of Revision List sets are going to be completed for towns of Kishinev, Khotin, Bendery, Beltsy, etc, see the progress. There are already 5706 records already completed.

• Photographing of Sector 1 at Kishinev Jewish Cemetery is completed, and hopefully we will finish indexing, deciphering the inscriptions and send it in summer time to JOWBR.
• Beltsy Jewish Cemetery. Next phase of photographing is done, and hopefully we will complete the rest and send to JOWBR soon.
• Teleneshty Old and New Jewish Cemeteries. It appears that not all translations of the inscriptions were done right, and we have more images of tombstones from Joyce Field which were not included. There will be more new records added soon.
• Vila Mariana Jewish Cemetery, San Paulo, Brazil. There are going to be some photos attached to records, and we will add them to JOWBR records.
