Bessarabian Databases. Updates:

• Revision Lists, plan to upload to JewishGen in December of 2022. We have records from following towns: Kishinev, Khotin, Brichany, Lipkany, Skulyany, Ataki, Akkerman, Kiliya, and others. See the progress.


• Vital Records, upload in December of 2022. There are records from Soroki uezd birth records for several years, Kishinev Death records for several years.

• History, Genealogy, Culture. 13-15 December 2022. The Bessarabia Special Interest Group (Bessarabia SIG) and JewishGen invite you to participate in a Virtual Winter Symposium, a series of live, online presentations to run from December 13 through 15, 2022.
  Sessions will explore historical experiences of our ancestors in Bessarabia, assist your family research, and expand your understanding and appreciation of their culture.
  
  You will meet presenters from Canada, Germany, France, Brazil, Moldova, Ukraine, the United States, and perhaps others. Presentations will delve into ideas and issues that are relevant not only to Bessarabia but also to other regions.
  
  If you would like to present a talk during the Symposium, please submit a proposal no later than September 1, 2022, to Yefim Kogan at yefimk@verizon.net
  
  The detailed schedule is going to be added in the end of September.
  

Bessarabian Databases. Updates sent to JewishGen in June of 2022:

Below is a list of updates sent to JewishGen. This year a new Upload system was created at JewishGen, and because of it all additions are already available to everybody! JewishGen - Thanks a lot! Thank you very much to all volunteers who worked on these Bessarabian projects.


• Vital Records. Bendery and uezd Birth and Death records; Beltsy Birth, Marriage and Death records; Kishinev Marriage records for years from 1861 -1918. Total of 4,036 records.

• Revision Lists, plan to upload to JewishGen in July of 2022. We have records from following towns: Kishinev, Kalarash (Tuzora), Teleneshty, Ataki, Khotin, colonies of Soroki uezd and others. There are already 4,336 records from 1,143 families completed. See the progress.


• Vital Records - Births, Marriages, Deaths, plan to upload to JewishGen in July of 2022. We are working with records from following towns/uezds: Beltsy, Bendery, Kishinev, and Soroki. There are already 4,000 records completed from Beltsy, Kishinev and Bendery uezd. See the progress.


• Cemeteries, we are getting more photos from Kishinev Jewish Cemetery, but the condition of the cemetery is so horrible, that it takes very long time to get to every grave. Our photographers are working now on Sector 3 and 7. After these are done, there are going to be sectors 8 and 9 left, which are in very bad shape too.
  
  We got photos donated from Klishkivtsy (now Ukraine) Old Jewish Cemetery, and also I found a person in Ukraine, who will go soon to New Jewish Cemetery in Klishkivtsy and photograph all the stones. They may need to use chainsaw, other tools to get to every grave. The condition of the cemetery is not good. I will keep you posted.
