Mititei

My favorite Bessarabian food that my mother and grandmother make are
mititei. Basically they are ground meat with various spices rolled
into a cylinder and grilled. They were always served with sliced raw
onion and peas dressed with vinegar. Also, usually with some fries on
the side. Sounds a bit strange and I don't know if that's the
'official' way of doing it but it really is delicious!
As for mamaliga, I can offer another topping that I really love,
especially since I'm not a huge fan of dairy: finely chopped garlic
mixed with olive oil and drenched all over the top.
