[Original in English]
To all our dear brethren wherever they live On April 29th, 1965 on the day of Shoah and G'vurah, Israelis of Sečovce (Gálszécs) and district origin gathered in the Hall of the Castell House. It was on the National Memorial Day. The chairman of the meeting, Mr. Fried (Laban) welcomed in his opening speech the assembly especially the visitors to Israel at that time namely Mrs. Weinberger Frida of Cleveland, Mr. Rosenberg Simon of Cleveland, Mrs. Serka Klein (Jakubovits) of Melbourne and Mr. Friedmann Shmuel of Košice. Our yearly meeting takes place on the same date, yet this year collection has a particular meaning and importance as there have passed twenty years since the end of the Second World War and the terrible Holocaust. It is our duty not to forget what happened to our Dearest and to go on in our life-way so that never again may a similar tragedy reach our Nation. The blood of our parents, children and brothers call not to forget… continued Mr. Fried in his speech. The memory of the recently passed Sečovicis was honoured, and that of the late Mr. Milder and late Mrs. Rosenfeld Evi. Rabbi Friedman of Bnei-Braq (a relative of Reb. Mendel Gershon Moskovits) camp prisoner too, recalled all our dear martyrs in a deeply emotional oration. Mr. Hofstädter, the teacher in the Jewish School In Sečovce and now teaching In Haifa spoke movingly of his late pupils he had begun to teach 30 years ago and was so bitterly stopped from doing his job. Some of his pupils, the survivors, sot among the gathered audience a trifle in number. With the El Male Rahamim presented by Jehuda Kleinthe son of our late chief Rabbi Shmuel Klein zl[3] and with the Hatikvah the first part of the meeting ended. Then followed the report of Mr. Tuli Rosenfeld concerning the memorial tableau on the Mount Zion in the Jad Vaśhem buildings. A place had been promised for Kilat Sečovce in the course of this year. The proposal of Mr. Schwarcz Bezalel, to establish a Loan Fund for mutual help. The Fund may serve each member of Khilat Sečovce and the district, who casually might be in need of money for a time and would be able to borrow without interest. We hope to create a constructive support in this way. Following the above-mentioned plan, a committee of ten was elected on the head of who was Mr. Schwarcz Bezalel (Cali) 122, Dizengoff St. Tel Aviv. Phone No. 221-437. The members of the committee will undertake the necessary steps of a basing the Fund. Our American visitor, Mr. Simon Rosenberg, agreed to the undertaking and warmly offered his kind cooperation in finding supporters for the Fund among our brethren abroad. All Interested please get in touch with Bezalel Schwarz. In the name of the meeting:
