On 12 May 1918, we established our organization. We held a meeting with the participation of ten Ostrolenkans and decided to establish an organization called The Progressive Young Friends of Ostrolenka. Membership dues were 10 cents a week.

Today, our society numbers 175 members. Our goal is to help those members who are suffering, and to rejoice with those who are joyous. We also try to help various fundraisers for Israel – Keren HaYesod, the Histadrut's fundraiser, Keren Kayemeth LeYisrael, as well as local charitable organizations. After World War II, we contributed a large sum to alleviate the suffering of our brothers and sisters, the survivors of the Holocaust.

We believe it is our sacred duty to participate in the publication of the Yizkor book of Ostrolenka – a mission that our brothers in Israel have taken upon themselves, in order to erect a living memorial to our martyrs.

The Committee is composed of: Sam Cohen – Chairman, Irving Friedman – Deputy Chairman, I. Bikowski – Secretary of Financial Affairs, Sam Ismachow – Treasurer, Alex Lifshitz and Tejtelbojm, Nathan Lifshitz, Jay Minowicz.

In September 1962, we celebrated the 30^th anniversary of our organization.
