Main Course: Meatballs & sauce

Can also be an entree with spaghetti or rice, or a side dish.

SAUCE:
1/4 cup ketchup
Pepper
Small tomatoes
Garlic powder
4 Allspice
(Onion salt, optional)
2 bay-leaves
½ cup water
1 tsp. sugar
3 dashes cayenne
Sauteed mushrooms and green pepper (optional)

MEATBALLS:
1 ½ - 2 Tbsps. oil
2 lbs. minced meat
2 stalks celery, diced
2 eggs
2 medium onions, diced
2 Tbsps. matzo meal
1 tin tomato sauce
Salt

Mix all sauce ingredients together in large pot. Bring to a simmer.

While sauce is heating, add eggs & water to meat. Mix together well.
Add matzo meal, onion salt, salt, pepper & garlic powder, and mix together again.
Form into 1" balls using teaspoonfuls.

Gently drop meatballs into bubbling sauce. (Try to drop each one a bit away from the others, so they don't stick together. Simmer for 1 hour.

*Sauteed mushrooms & green pepper can be added halfway through.
