1850-1950" - pp120-121), although it does not appear to have
been one of the congregations that attended the meeting of 16 October
1887 at which it was agreed to form the Federation. |

		 Local Government
		Districts: |

		 Cannon
		Street Road and
New Goulston Street are now in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets,
created on 1 April 1965, within the administrative area of Greater London.
Previously, both streets were in the Metropolitan Borough of
Stepney (established 1900) in the County of London

Cannon Street Road had been in the civil parish of St George in the
		East and
New Goulston Street had been in the civil parish of Whitechapel,
both of which civil parishes were abolished in 1927 to be absorbed into
Stepney Borough parish, which was itself abolished 1965. Until 1889,
these parishes were in the former
		County of Middlesex until 1889.

From 1856 to 1900, the Vestry (council)
of the Parish of St George in the East and the board of Whitechapel
District (of which the civil parish of Whitechapel was a constituent)
		were local authorities, with
functions similar to that of a local government district council. |
