The original Merthyr Tydfil Marriage Register for the period 1886-1950 is held
by the Central Archives for the History of the Jewish People, Jerusalem. To view

The register has
recently been transcribed by Dr. Cai Parry-Jones, author of "The Jews of Wales:
A History (2017)" and historical adviser to the Merthyr Tydfil Synagogue
project, which has plans to turn the former synagogue building into a
Welsh Jewish
Cultural Centre.
Dr. Parry-Jones has kindly made available the transcribed Register to JCR-UK for
conversion to the online database comprising the 130 marriages presented in
these pages.
Details of any marriage are displayed by selecting the starting letter of either
the groom's or bride's surname in the first drop-down list below, and then
selecting the name of the required individual from the second drop-down list.
Navigation to the next or previous marriage in the Register is achieved by
clicking the appropriate link on the selected Marriage page.
Please ensure that JavaScript is enabled in your browser before making a

This Marriage Register database has been created through the efforts of Alan
Tobias and Webmaster David Shulman using the information provided by Dr Cai
Parry-Jones.
The details are reproduced here by kind permission of Dr Cai Parry-Jones and the
