Services were held in the New Community Rooms (St Mary's Church), Spensley Walk, Stoke Newington Church Street (west of the intersection with Albion Road), London N16 9ES from 2003.(i) However, as these rooms are under refurbishment until at least March 2020, the congregation is temporarily holding most of its regular services at: William Patten Primary School, Stoke Newington Church St, Stoke Newington, London N16 0NX(ii)

Formation:

A steering committee was set up (primarily by former members of the North London Progressive Synagogue, which had recently closed) and initial services held in 2002. The Congregation formally established (constitution adopted) in 2003.(iii)

Charitable Status:

The congregation is a registered charity (no. 1163562), registered on 14 September 2015 under the name Kehillah North London, as a charitable incorporated organisation (company no. CE004691).(xii)

It previously operated as a unincorporated registered charity (no. 1097713), registered on 28 May 2003, initially under the name North London Progressive Jewish Community, pursuant to a constitution adopted on 17 April 2003, which was removed from the register on 24 January 2019.(xiii)

Local Government District:

Stoke Newington is in the London Borough of Hackney, an Inner London Borough created on 1 April 1965, within the administrative area of Greater London.
