Yakar Kehila closed in about 2008, following the decision of the Rosen family and the Yakar Educational Foundation to cease backing the congregation and to direct the resources elsewhere.

However, a number of former members of the congregation established Kehillat Ohel Avraham, as a successor congregation to Yakar(vii) and continued to hold services at the London School of Jewish Studies.  It subsequently closed, although the date is uncertain - although the congregation ceased being listed in Jewish Year Books from 2011, it was still listed in the JPR report on synagogue membership in 2016.(viii)
