Jewish population 450 1900, 2 marriages
Synagogue, Heneage Street
. (founded 1865),
seatholders, 80_ Income and expenditure - average about £250 per annum. The present structure was consecrated in 1885, the Chief Rabbi officiating, Mr. F.D. Mocatta having laid the Foundation stone.
Religion and Hebrew Schools (founded 1865)
[1898 Held at the St Andrew's Denominational School ... This school started with ten boys, but now numbers 60 pupils (23 boys, 19 girls, and 18 infants.] In 1900, 40 pupils.
Grimsby Jewish Philanthropic Society (founded April 1900) To grant loans of money to necessitous resident Jewish poor.
Jewish Literary Society (for the study of Jewish Literature and Ancient Classics.)
