What is the JewishGen Memorials & Plaques Database?The JewishGen Memorials & Plaques Project is a database of names and other identifying information from worldwide Jewish synagogue memorial plaques, yizkor lists, congregation memorials, founding member and officer plaques, war memorials and rolls of honor, Holocaust memorials, deportation memorials, memorials from local conflicts. It is a compilation of three linked databases: a database of memorials and plaques, and a database of information about each particular synagogue or institution, and a database of photos when available. The Memorials & Plaques Database's aim is to catalog extant data about all types of Jewish memorial records worldwide. The JewishGen Memorials & Plaques Project is a searchable database on JewishGen, and the data is also incorporated into the relevant JewishGen "All Country" Databases. How does the Memorial & Plaques Project work?Nolan Altman is the Project Coordinator. The technical aspects of the project are guided by Avraham Groll, JewishGen's Executive Director.
