Linda Ann Bellos OBE (b. 1950), businesswoman, radical feminist and gay-rights activist, was a
Labour Councillor and the leader of Lambeth Borough
Council from 1986 to 1988. Her mother, Renee Sackman, was Jewish.

John Bercow (b.1963), Conservative MP for Buckingham 1997-2019 and Speaker of the House of Commons 2009-2019, was a
Conservative Councillor on Lambeth Borough Council (1986-1990).

Simon Cowell (b. 1959) television personality and music industry executive, creator of the X Factor and Got Talent franchises, was born in Lambeth.
He has Jewish ancestry through his father, Eric Selig Phillip Cowell (1918–1999).

Lieutenant Colonel Marcus Lipton CBE (1900-1978) who was born in Sunderland, was Labour MP for Brixton 1945-1974, and on the abolition of the Brixton seat,
for Lambeth Central from 1974 until his death.

Nathan Marock JP, (1905-1963) a member of Brixton synagogue, became Mayor of Lambeth in 1955.

Lord Mishcon of Lambeth QC, DL (1915-2006) senior partner of the law firm Mishcon de Reya, was born in Brixton, the son of Rabbi Arnold Mishcon
of Brixton synagogue. Labour councillor for Brixton and later Lambeth on London County Council (1946–64), and its successor,
the Greater London Council, 1964–1967. An accomplished negotiator in the political, legal and communal arenas,
he was the first practicing solicitor to be made an honorary QC. Holding a number of Jewish community positions,
he was Vice-President of the Board of Deputies of British Jews, 1967–1973. He was made a peer in 1978.

Jonathan Myerson (b. 1960 in Cardiff), dramatist and novelist, writing principally for television and radio,
was a Labour Councillor on Lambeth Borough Council, 2002-2006.

Aubrey Solomon (later known as
Abba Eban) (1915-2002) Israel's leading 20th century diplomat and foreign minister,
during his childhood lived at 12 Kennington Park Road in Lambeth.

Jack Westbury (1904-1987) warden of Brixton synagogue and United Synagogue Council member, was Mayor of Lambeth in 1970.
The Westbury housing estate in Lambeth is named after him.

The Imperial War Museum on Lambeth Road houses the largest display of material relating to the Holocaust in the UK. Its Holocaust galeries span two floors of the museum.
