However, the congregation may have been established earlier (during World War II), being omitted from 1945/ edition in error. There were no Jewish Year Books during the period of the war. ↵ (ii) Not listed inJewish Year Book 1948. ↵ (iii) Jewish Year Book 1947. ↵ (iv) The London Borough of Croydon, an Outer London Borough, was created on 1 April 1965 upon the merger of the former County Borough of Croydon (a unitary authority geographically in the county of Surrey) with the Unban District of Coulson and Purley, also then part of Surrey. ↵ (v) The former Registration Districts were Surrey Mid-Eastern, from 1 April 1934 until 1 April 1965 and, prior thereto, Croydon from the formation of Congregation. Any registers would now be held by the current register office. ↵
