On August, 3, 1789 there were 13 Jewish families in the town of Janovice .:

  1. Jakob David , accepted name was Jakob Eisner, single.
  2. Volf David, accepted name was Volf Goldschmied, married.
  3. Jakob Volf - Jakob Goldschmid, married.
  4. Abraham - Abraham Goldschmid, married.
  5. Volf Joachim - Volf Steiner, married.
  6. Isak Joachim - Isak pollak, married.
  7. Moyses Nathan - Moyses Kann, married.
  8. Kolman Fischl ?  -  Kopplman Weisl, married.
  9. Jakub Nathan - Jakub Kann, married.
  10. David Wolf - David Bloch, married.
  11. Salomon Nathan - Salomon Kann, married.
  12. Jakob Herschl - Jakob Hutter, married.
  13. Moyses Salomon- Moyses Hann (Hahn), married.

In January 1809 Aron Bloch, son of Volf Bloch was born in Janovice. This Aron Bloch was later baptized and changed his name to Adolf Blume. He was a professor of medicine at the Wien University. (In 1824 he was a student in Klatovy, and recorded there as Adolf Bloch).

Leopold Bloch, a physician, lived in Strazov, - recorded in 1760.

The synagogues were in Janovice and Dlazov.

Gotfried Sommer lists 78 Jewish familiants in 21 villages in his book from 1839:

Janovice - 8 houses, 21 families, a synagogue.
Bezdekov : 5 families.
Tynec : 2 families.
Klenova : 2 families.
Zdeslav: 5 families, a distillery.
Dlazov: 11 families.
Pocinovice: 2 families.
Modlin - 1 family.
Smrzovice - 2 families.
Soustov - 1 family.
Miletice - 1 family. 
Beharzov - 4 families.
Slavikovice - 4 families.
Maloveska - 1 family.
Mlynec - 1 family.
Loucim - 5 families.
Lipkov - 3 families.
Spule - 1 family. 
Nova Viska - 1 family.
Neznaschov - 4 families.
Beschiny - 1 family.
Javor - 1 family.

The Jewish tax in Janovice was paid  in the period 1814-1825 by Volf Steiner, Josef Pollak, and Marek Luft. (Regional Archives, note of Dr. K. Hostash)

From Janovice town tradition (recorded in 1934):

A David Kahn born in Janovice or Spule moved 125 years ago (grandfathers of the Feldman family were brothers) to America. His descendants left heritage which was requested several years ago by some relatives from families Sucharipa from Janovice. Their  requests were in vain because they couldn't present the birth certificate of David Kahn.

Registers of Janovice Community were kept by : Matej Veisl, Leopold Mueller and Jakub Stein (a rabbi from 1861 to 1867 ).
