GerSig started in October 1998 with 75 members. We now number over 1,600. All messages that have been posted to this forum since 1998 are easily and quickly searchable at:

New GerSig members should use the search feature right now to see if your FAMILY NAMES and TOWNS of origin have been discussed in the GerSig forum before to you joined.

Simply enter the FAMILY NAME in the search field and specify German Jewish SIG, then click on the "search" button. Do the same with cities and towns in which branches of your family have lived.

JewishGen Discussion Group (JGDG) archives are separate from the SIG archives and must be searched separately. Research on German Jewish families is discussed often in the JGDG, especially
before GerSig began in 1998.
