This is a photo of the headstone of my maternal great aunt, Jenny Levine Solomon. Her husband was Samuel Solomon. I would appreciate a translation of the Hebrew inscription.
Thank You

Here lies

Shem [or: Sam, see comments, below] son of Reb Aharon

He passed away 6 Cheshvan 5724

May his soul be bound up in the bond of life.

Hebrew on gravestones is written without vowels. The name of the deceased could be "Shem", a Biblical name (and the origin of the word Semite); this is not a very common name. On the other hand, it might be a transliteration of his secular name, Sam [which might be the case if his religious name was not known].

'Reb' is an honorific; it does not mean rabbi.

Aharon is Hebrew for Aaron.

Jennie:

Here lies SHAYNA TZIPPEH daughter of Reb David the Levite

She passed away 12 Iyar 5713

May her soul be bound up in the bond of life.
-------------------------------------------------
Shayna is a Yiddish name meaning 'the pretty one'. Tzippeh is a Yiddish name derived from Tziporah, which is Hebrew for bird (and was the name of Moses' wife).

I explained about 'Reb David the Levite' in a previous response.

The 12th of Iyar, 5713, began at sunset on April 26th, 1953, and ended at sunset on the 27th. The secular date on the stone is the 26th, which would indicate that she passed away between sunset and midnight of that date.
