5/1/2024 1:19 PM GITTEL daughter of Reb Naftali Hersh

===================================================
As always, 'Reb' is an honorific and does not mean rabbi.

Gittel is a Yiddish name that means "the good one".

Her father had a double name. Naftali is the name of one of the twelve tribes of Israel. Hersh is the Yiddish word for deer.

Each of the 12 tribes had its own symbol. The symbol of Naftali was a deer. This may be the reason for the "Hersh" part of the name.
