In Yiddish, Pasela A village in the Mazeikiai district, not far from Vieksniai. A number of Jewish families lived in Pasela during the middle of the 19th century. The banker, philanthropist and community worker, Rabbi Elinka Kretinger, who was actually Rabbi Eliyahu Levinzon and one of Rabbi Yisrael Salanter's students, lived with his family in Pasela for a short period of time.
