In Yiddish, Panotery A county town on the banks of the Nemunelis River in the Rokiskis district, 6 km northeast of Pandelys. In 1923, the town had 628 residents and among them were 387 Jews (62%). Most of the Jews made their living from petty trade and agriculture. In June, 1941, when the Germans conquered Lithuania, the fate of the Jews of Panoteriai was the same as the fate of the Jews in the surrounding areas.
