A village in the Marijampole district. In 1884, a Jewish settlement was founded in Mikalina, on land donated by the Russian authorities. During the period of Lithuanian independence Mikalina had an estate owned by a Jew, named Z. Levin. Until the Second World War it contained a training farm of HaShomer HaTzair.
