In Yiddish, Olove A county town in the Alytus district. Before WWI there was a fairly large Jewish settlement there. In 1923 it had 78 Jews. In 1931, Jews owned a flourmill in Alove.
18 people participated in the 1935 elections to the 19th Zionist Congress. 17 of them voted for Eretz-Yisrael Haoveded party and 1 for the Mizrahi party.
In June of 1941, when the Germans conquered Lithuania, the fate of the Jews in Alove was the same as the fate of the other Jews in the area.
