This list of the martyrs of Dembitz, who perished in the Holocaust, which is presented down in this section, was gathered from natives of our city and the neighboring villages under very difficult circumstances. We have attempted not to omit anyone – relatives reported about their families, neighbors about their neighbors and acquaintances, but nevertheless, we could not always obtain complete information, especially with respect to children and elderly parents. In some cases we were unable to determine the relationships between those mentioned in this list, and it is possible that, aside from the omissions, there are also errors. With this in mind, we beg forgiveness from the relatives and friends who perhaps will be upset. May the souls of the forgotten ones be bound up for eternity alongside all those mentioned.
