Translator's note: The listings on pages marked as [Hebrew] contain names memorialized by individuals to commemorate their deceased family members. Not all of the names listed are those of people who perished in the Holocaust. If the original listing indicates that they did, an asterisk (*) follows their name. Many of the names appear in the original text followed by the Hebrew terms equivalent to 'May his/her memory be blessed' or 'May he/she rest in peace.' The names of those who perished in the Holocaust are followed by the Hebrew term May God Avenge their blood. These terms have not been translated when they follow individual names. |
May God remember the holy souls of our martyrs, of our hometown Bilke and vicinity. We the remnant, the survivors of the Holocaust will forever remember the Jewish souls of Bilke and vicinity; our parents, brothers and sisters who were so cruelly murdered in the sanctification of the name of God. Those whose names appear here help us give sense to the great loss of each individual personality whom we will remember with reverence. May God Almighty vindicate the blood of his faithful shed by the tyrants. |

In memory of our grandmother and step-grandfather. Mrs. Bayla (Weisman) Milligram Berkovitz and Mr. Zelig Berkovitz Were very kind and generous people who gave monetary assistance to the synagogue in the Kulbasovo section of Bilke whenever the synagogue was found to have financial difficulties. They were admired by all who came in contact with them. They were deported to Auschwitz in May 1944 where they perished, she at approximately 75 and he at approximately 70 years of age. May they be an inspiration and a blessing to the family and to all other Bilke Landsleit. Only persons of valour could have endured the horrible conditions they experienced from the time they left Bilke until they arrived in Auschwitz, a period of a few months. May G-d grant them both eternal peace and rest in their heavenly abodes.
Granddaughter: Ruth Milligram Solomon |
