At the beginning of the 20th century and between the two world wars some of the Jewish families worked in agriculture. In addition, there were small merchants and craftsmen. During the Holocaust, on October 2nd, 1940, the Germans moved all the Jews to the ghetto that had been established in two villages: Bugaj and Nowiny Brdowskie (to which several hundred Jews from Koło had also been sent). On January 12th-14th, 1942, all these Jews were dispatched to the extermination camp at Chelmno.
