It is a village about 30 kilometers southeast of the district city of Sziget. All of its residents were Romanian.

In the census of 1830, the following are listed: Hirsch Weiss (4), Lazar Weiss (4), Shimon Lachs (5), Hinda Weiss (3), Avraham Shiera (7), Hirsch Kadishan (5), Yaakov Weiss.

We have no details about the Jews of this village. It appears that the first Jews did not arrive in Slatina before the 1770s. In any case, no Jews are listed in Slatina in any of the censuses of the Jews of the district.

We know about Reb Eliezer Zeev Stern, an enthusiastic Hasid of Ottynia, and the son-in-law of the well-known Hasid Reb Yehuda Evir Rosenberg of Bickskof.

At the end of April 1944, the Jews of Slatina were apparently transferred to the Dragomireºti Ghetto, from where they were deported to Auschwitz. After the Holocaust, 28 Holocaust survivors returned.

Today, there are no Jews in Slatina.
