It was a village about 10 kilometers south of Sighet. All of its residents were Romanian.

In the census of 1768, a Jew named Shimon Moskovitch is mentioned, with a seven person family. He worked in the production of strong drink. He paid 10 Florin of leasing fees per year.
In the 1830 census, the following heads of families are mentioned (number of individuals in parentheses):
Shmuel Adler (6), Gedalia Tesler (4), Leib Sepan (5), Leib Fogel (4), Marko Sobo (2), Moshe Tesler (5), Zalman Feder (6), Shaul Isak (5), Moshko Weisel (5), Hersh Gailer (5), Leib Fuchs (5), Leib Shaul (4), Hersh Gailer (5), Zelig Fuchs (9).
We have no additional information about this village. In April 1944, the Jews of Sanapatak were transferred to the Berbeşti Ghetto, from where they were transferred to the Sighet Ghetto, and then deported to Auschwitz.
Today, there are no Jews in Sanapatak.
