I found the tombstone of my GGM, on a recent trip to N.Y. State, somthing I haven't seen in over 60 years. Can someone please translate the Hebrew on the Tombstone. I would appreciate it very much. FYI the Cemetary was the Sons of Israel in Monsey, N.Y. (Rockland County) |

My family name, Chernik, has appeared two slightly different ways in Russian documents. What is the last letter on the bottom rendition? How does it sound? |

1 of 2 documents from Czestochowa Archives, Poland, in Polish, I believe. Hoping at least one is an ancestor of my grandparents, surnamed Birnholtz from Czestochowa. |

I have posted on ViewMate in two separate files the front and back of a photograph. I would appreciate help in reading and translating the Russian printed words. I suspect that one of them is the name of the photography studio. I would appreciate any assistance in determining when and where the photo was taken. Thank you. |

Can you translate? This message on the back of a 1923 portrait of my late aunt Peshke/Pauline
and another woman appears to be a greeting or farewell message. We believe the name on the left
is Esferi Podoksik. All help gratefully received. |

Who are these people at a grave in Rezekne, Latvia, presumably in 1920 when the tombstone were erected. I would be thankful to hear if anyone recognizes any of them.
