Hayes, a district in west London, is now in the London Borough of Hillingdon, the most westernly of the London Boroughs, created on 1 April 1965, within the administrative area of Greater London.^(xii)

Previously Hayes was in the Urban District of Hayes and Harlington (renamed from the Urban District of Hayes in 1930) in the former County of Middlesex, both of which entities were abolished in 1965.
