Golders Green Synagogue

The Jewish Chronicle reported that that the Foundation Stone recorded the names of those who performed the ceremony together with the names of the Chairman of the Building Committee and the Architect.  However, the names of both the Chief Rabbi and the Minister were omitted. The Jewish Chronicle expressed surprise at the omission because of the hard work done by the Minister, Rev Livingstone.   They also reported that this error was not a good thing because when people read the stone in the future, they might wrongly assume that the Synagogue was just a business concern.  They also paid homage to Mr Benjamin Drage who was “the leading spirit in the movement” which resulted in the Synagogue being established. ⁽⁵⁷⁾
