The Establishment of Golders Green Synagogue by Lynne Fertleman PREFACE This article looks into how the Jewish Community of Golders Green grew in the early 1900s and set up its first orthodox synagogue in the area. It looks at the growing population and where the community worshipped in the early days and as interest grew for a more permanent site, the search for suitable land for building the synagogue. It explains how a committee was established to organise such a project and how the money was raised to purchase the land and build the synagogue.
