When Formed: |
The origins of the congregation were in about July 1947(v) when
a number of members of Croydon
& District Synagogue living in and around Addiscombe
began arranging separate services for the High Holidays. |
Status: |
Closed in 1954 when the congregation reunited with Croydon & District
Synagogue.
Mr. M. Lederman, President of the Federation of Synagogues, speaking at a reception for the combined congregations,
"stressed the need for unity within the Orthodox community whatever the degree of observance. For the sake of future generations it was
essential that Orthodox bodies present a united front against weakening tendencies".(viii) |
