1874[a]	Synagogue, Hereson, Ramsgate.  Founded by Sir Moses Montefiore Bart and Judith Lady Montefiore, his wife "in commemoration of the happy event of their first visit to the Holy City of Jerusalem." The synagogue was consecrated 17 June 1833.  It is supported entirely at the expense of Sir Moses Montefiore. Judith Lady Montefiore's Theological College. Established and endowed by Sir Moses Montefiore Bart in the year 1866.
1901[b]	Jewish population about 130. Spanish and Portuguese Congregation, founded about 1833 by the late Sir Moses Montefiore. Hebrew Classes. There are six kosher restaurants and boarding houses.
