The Congregation was formed by 1946(i) It was reputedly a breakaway synagogue from
Prestwich Hebrew Congregation,
"Shrubberies", Bury New Road.
In the mid/late1950's, the
Congregation appears to have became inactive, as it ceased to be
listed in the Jewish Year Book, and only re-appeared in the
mid-1970's.

with Salford. Sedgley Park is in the south of Prestwich.
From 1939 until its incorporation into Bury in 1974, Prestwich was a
Municipal Borough in the county of Lancashire, and prior thereto (from
1894) it was as Urban District. |
