Jewish Chronicle, 19 June 1942

Rev. C.M. Bloch, whose appointment as a Chaplain to the Forces was reported last week, was described as of Portsmouth and Southsea. Mr. Bloch left Portsmouth over a year ago on his appointment as Liaison and Education Officer for North Devon, under the Joint Emergency Committee, with his headquarters at Ilfracombe.

ILFRACOMBE - At a recent meeting of the Congregation the following were elected: Messrs. J. Fainlight, President; H. Schneider, Vice-President; I. Rose, Treasurer; and B. Wykansky, Hon. Secretary.

ILFRACOMBE—A farewell gathering was held in honour of Mr. and Mrs. Wykansky prior to their departure for London. Mr. D. J. Fainlight, President, spoke of Mr. Wvkansky's services, since 1941, as their Honorary Minister and Secretary, Mr. Schneider, Vice-president, referred to his welfare work for the refugee members, and Mr. Press, Treasurer, spoke of the work done by Mr. and Mrs. Wykansky on behalf of Service men and women. A presentation was made of an illuminated address and inscribed silverware. Mr. Wykansky delivered a farewell sermon.
