Every Saturday morning the Hassocks Council School is turned into a Synagogue, services being conducted for the Jewish children from London.
Special Jewish festival services are being held next Thursday and Friday, when the school will be closed to London children of other faiths.

HASSOCKS - At a meeting of the Hebrew Congregation held at 1, Queen's Drive (by

it was resolved to co-operate in social and religious activities with neighbouring Jewish communities.

HASSOCKS - The Hebrew Congregation and the Jewish Ladies Guild have decided to entertain the Jewish children evacuated to Hassocks at a Chanucah festival.
As the community is very small, they would be glad of any financial assistance. The children are from a poor London district wthout any resources of their own.
Donations will be gratefully acknowledged by Mr. A. Werner.

HASSOCKS - The Hebrew Congregation at Hassocks will hold a Chanucah service for the evacuated children and for Jewish soldiers in the neighbourhood on Wednesday.

HASSOCKS - Services for children are held at the village school on Saturday mornings from 9.30 to 10.30, and services for adults from 10.30 to 12 noon.

HASSOCKS - A group of Habonim has been formed at Hassocks for the evacuated children. Meetings are held on Saturdays and Sundays.

HASSOCKS - The community at Hassocks, Sussex, consisting of 14 families, holds Sabbath services regularly and provides facilities for Jewish children
evacuated in the surrounding villages. Nine guineas have been given to London charities. The Secretary's address is 32 Grand Avenue.

A report was given by the Chairman on the work done by the - Joint Emergency Committee in securing a qualified teacher
for the evacuated children at Hassocks, Hurstpierpoint, and Ditchling.
Miss Schaps, the appointed teacher, will be pleased to receive cooperation from parents.
