If Larry were to teach more courses, I would take them, including traditional genealogy courses. His help has been invaluable in making progress on finding new information regarding our family.

I’ve been trying to trace my family for the past 15 years. I even took a Jewish Gen course last year, which was somewhat helpful. This year, I decided to try again, and took the course offered by Barbara Rice. Of course, this class included more than 12 people, and she has to keep the information rather generic. I realized that Barbara’s knowledge could be so valuable to me. So when, at the end of the class, she informed us that we could do private tutoring with her, I jumped at the chance.
What I got was much more than I bargained for (no, I really didn’t bargain). Barbara has such a great wealth of knowledge, and knows just how to guide someone so that they can continue on in their search. Not only that, but she really takes a personal interest in your family. Even though I haven’t taken the second session, which is scheduled for tomorrow, I sent Barbara some emails to help her see where I’m going. She took the time to answer each one, and went as far as to do some additional research based on my emails and send me the information. All this on her own time!
She is a tremendous asset to the Jewish Gen faculty. I wish every person could spend some time with her. She is very special, and I’m so glad I chose to take her class, and do the additional tutoring.
