The course includes the historical background of the Jews that left eastern Europe and Poland in the late 1880s for the United Kingdom.

Census, immigration, vital records, wills and probate, burial records and much more.

Search the connections with families in the UK with families in the US, South Africa and Australia. Learn to use JewishGen, familysearch and findmypast. what is online and what is not, websites and records (census, court records, directories and more.).

  • UK Jewish Communities
  • Finding the former European town, using the current groups in the UK to discover resources
  • Synagogue and Cemetery records. Poor Jews shelters
  • Cemetery, Vital Records and school records in the UK and what to expect from wills and probate

Skills you will learn

How to use major online databases for UK records; what records exist for your family and surname; how to Organize and track your research.

  • This is a three-week course, involving Personal Research Class By Request with an instructor
  • Guides, Readings, Assignments, Research Guidance
  • Weekly Zoom sessions

Requirements

This is an intermediary class that requires a surname and town in UK—application required.

Tuition

Tuition is $150 for three weeks.
