Distinguished Jews of America - Volume One

Thanks to volunteers Sheila Levin (transcriber) and Tamara Pinkas (proofreader), this index to 428 biographies about prominent Jewish men in America is taken from a two-volume book published in 1917 and edited by J. Pfeffer with an introduction by Albert M. Friedenberg. Titled, “Distinguished Jews of America: A Collection of Biographical Sketches of Jews who have made their mark in Business, the Professions, Politics, Science, Etc.,” there is significant information including birth origins, spouse names, immigration dates, and occupational history. Photos are provided for most.
