Synagogue/Society Description: |
Chevra Sholom Congregation was founded in Jeannette, Pa. around 1910. The congregation used rented halls for decades before eventually converting a church at 600 Gaskill Ave. in 1939. As the local Jewish population declined in the 1960s and 1970s, Chevra Sholom merged with Congregation B'nai Israel in nearby Greenburg.
