Deportees From Beuthen Germany (Bytom Poland)

949 Records

Holocaust · Victims · Silesia · Germany · Poland

Background

Beuthen, Upper Silesia, Germany -- now Bytom, Poland -- had over 3,500 Jewish inhabitants prior to World War II.  Many fled, but 982 Jews were deported to unknown destinations in May and June 1942.

This material, probably prepared by the Gestapo, consists of an alphabetical list of deportees, giving family and personal names.  No further information on these individuals is given in this material, other than street address, which has not been computerized.  Researchers seeking further information on individuals, such as date and place of birth, may wish to use the May 1939 census, which is available at LDS Family History Centers.
