Cemetery Description:	Sons of Israel Congregation was chartered in 1894. The congregation held services in private homes and rented halls until 1912, when it renovated a former church on Morrison Street. The congregation expanded the building in 1927 with a community center wing. Sons of Israel Congregation dedicated the Hillside Cemetery in 1919. Morris Shakespeare later donated the gates in memory of his mother Ida Shakespeare. The cemetery is located across 1st Street from Saint Catherine's Cemetery.
