Founded in 1867 in New York by immigrants from Wreschen (Wrzesnia, 43 km E of Poznan). The society provided sick and death benefits to its members, and used the Mount Pleasant Cemetery. They changed their name from the Sons of Wreschen to The Society of 1867 in 1945. Papers from 145 to 1970 are in YIVO Archives
