Fairmount Memorial Park was founded in 1888. The cemetery was originally established as Spokane's "Official City and County Burial Ground." Fairmount consists of 220 acres with 87 developed. It is located high on the rimrock of the Spokane River overlooking "Bowl and Pitcher" and Riverside State Park.
