Cemetery Description: |
"There are 7 rows, with about 15 graves on each left/right side of the center path. The later rows (those towards the front) are rather sparse, and there is room for about five or six more rows in the front. Burials apparently started in the back row, with females on the left,
and males on the right, each starting on the far left and right chronologically. Stones next to the center aisle are double stones (husband/wife). This separation of male and female was apparently abandoned after the first three rows. The ""Row"" field indicates row number (starting at the back), and whether left or right of the center path. The earliest burial is 1934. Earlier burials of Kolno landsleit may be found in either:
1) Congregation Bnei Jeshurun Anshe Kolne -- Montefiore Cemetery -- Block 89, Gate 173/S. or 2) Chebra Bnei Yeshuren Anshe Kolna -- Washington Cemetery, Brooklyn -- Section 3, Post 296. The inscriptions on some stones were obscured by plant overgrowth. Transcribed by Warren Blatt, August 23, 1998"
