Ozeryany Cemetery, Ukraine. 29 burials total.
There is a small cemetery with perhaps several hundred stones and the photographers attempted to photograph all of the legible stones, and probably managed to photograph about 95 per cent of them. The stones themselves were generally unremarkable in appearance without intricate or interesting designs. Two cows were grazing in the field, and that appeared the usual custom since the grass was low. The cemetery is unsecured allowing free access. There are houses on two sides of the cemetery and agricultural land on the other two sides.
There was a second cemetery in Ozeriany. It is now an open field with no stones since local Ukrainians used the stones for building, in particular in the foundations of barns. Animals kept in those barns did not thrive so the stones were removed and then disappeared. Neither Germans nor Russians had destroyed the cemetery.
