Cemetery Description: |
Chropov Cemetery, Chropov, Solvakia. 13 burials total.
Small section of a bigger cemetery. The Jewish cemetery was established on the right bank of Chropovský stream, about four hundred meters before its tributary to the village. It was buried in two rows. Today, the tombstones are mostly vandalized, it can be estimated that there were about thirty graves in the cemetery. The last burial could take place in 1932. The cemetery was surrounded on three sides by a stone wall, and on the side from the stream it was protected by a steep slope. Today, the remains of the walls around the perimeter can only be identified as terrain waves made of stone. Some tombstones photographed in 1990, have already been destroyed now. Photos and cemetery description are donated by Mr. Stanislav Chromek, see https://kriz.epocha.sk/zidovske-cintoriny/zidovsky-cintorin-chropov
