Cemetery Description: |
Martin Cemetery, Sklabinská 144, Martin, Slovakia. 167 burials total.
The original cemetery was abolished and the tombstones were partially relocated to the newer Jewish cemetery, which is part of the city's cemetery. Between the tombstones is a dilapidated monument with the inscription "Jewish Cemetery 1934-1956, OKS Martin 1972". There are only a few original graves in the current cemetery, most of the tombstones are loosely laid in the grass. The cemetery is maintained and open to the public. A total of 167 buried on 154 tombstones were /partly/ identified, 10 other tombstones were not identified (heavily overgrown with moss). The photos were taken during a single visit to the cemetery in 2019, they are not always of the required quality.
