Nové Zámky Orthodox Jewish Cemetery, Nové Zámky, SLOVAKIA, 334 burials total.
Both Jewish cemeteries Nove Zamky are located in Nove Zamky, N of Komarno. The isolated rural/agricultural flat land has no sign or marker. Reached by turning directly off a public road, access is open to all via a masonry wall and locking gate. Present size of the orthodox cemetery is cca 46 x 103 meters, the neological is an irregular rhomboid with sides cca 71, 96, 77 and 103 meters; the utilized area of both cemeteries is about 10 000 m2. About 1400 19th-20th century tombstones in original locations are marble, granite, sandstone, and other materials flat shaped tombstones (some with carved relief decorations), finely smoothed and inscribed stones, double tombstones, or multi-stone monuments. Inscriptions are Hebrew, German, Hungarian and Slovak. Within the limits of the cemetery are a pre-burial house, tombs, a gravedigger's house. The local Jewish community owns the property used for Jewish cemetery only. Adjacent properties are agricultural. Compared to 1939, cemetery boundaries are the same. Private visitors visit frequently. The Neolog and Orthodox cemeteries are divided by a wall and have separate entrances, but are located in the same place. The cemetery was founded in 1857.
