Cemetery Description: |
"There is no sign or marker to identify the site, which is surrounded by agriculture. In August 2005, the cemetery was covered with heavy vegetation. There is an old locking gate but it does not prevent access along a narrow path off the minor road east of intersection with Route 6. Previous visitors reported 100-500 18th-20th century marble, granite, limestone, and sandstone flat shaped stones, finely smoothed and inscribed stones, flat stones with carved relief decorations with Hebrew inscriptions are in original locations. There is no maintenance but visitors occasionally clear vegetation and have cleaned some stones. Vegetation has disturbed some of the graves but has also protected stones from the effects of weather. The lack of signage and dense vegetation may serve to protect site from vandalism. Bobby Furst donated the pictures, Tomer Brunner did the transliterations, and Vivian Kahn created the database for submission.
